@Kristian Yes, it is mostly unsupported. At the moment you’re better off uploading to PeerTube and resharing from your Friendica account. This makes private videos out of reach.
@Hypolite Petovan Hmmm, ok, so I'll keep using Mastodon or Pixelfed for videos. Don't intend to share longer clips or private movies after all, just smaller snippets.
@choyer @Kristian None of us on the development team are familiar with video handling, so the best we could offer is a simple pass-through after a summary file type detection to display a native video player. I assume there would be mixed results from arbitrary video upload but that's about it from us.

Maybe not perfect for all cases but better than now..🙂 (Or, as an alternative, would it be possible to reshare posts from other accounts not as "native post" but as quoted? Currently, I could easily setup reshare for Mastodon or pixelfed but it wouldn't by then be visible from Diaspora...🙁 @choyer (elsica)
@Hypolite Petovan Would be pretty good for this case I guess. Doing the same for resharing Tumblr posts, but it so far doesn't work automatically, unlike the mirroring I can set up for in example Mastodon or pixelfed accounts... @choyer (elsica)
