Hi guys!
I tried to follow the #RSS feed from apod
https://apod.com/feed.rss
Be careful opening this url in Firefox. Here it opens one tab after another... it seems somehow broken.
Chromium opens this feed-url without problems.

And when i search in friendica for this url, it finds nothing. Maybe the same problem as firefox has?

Can someone verify my problems please?

When I open the link with IronFox, only one tab will open.
The feed is also found when I search for it on this instance.

What's strange... friendica tries multiple times to detect is as "Diaspora"

I run Firefox 142.0.1 (64-Bit) on Linux/Ubuntu24 but installed directly from mozilla not via snap.
Tried also in -safe-mode with all addons disabled.
The same... it opens one tab after another, downloads for each tab a new "*.part" which is empty.

I can fetch the feed with curl...

That's the point...
The validator can even not download the feed from the url.
As my firefox and my friendica-server also can NOT.

Is it a ratelimiting?
Or is it blocked, because it's a hetzner-url?
But no... chromium can open the url without problems.

I tried to add it via contacts-page in my profile.

It finds the site, but right above: "Network-type can not be detected"...

Der Link wird in einem priv. Fenster normal geöffnet.
Wenn ich den Link bei Friendica in die Suche eingebe, wird das Ziel gefunden und ich könnte den Feed als Kontakt hinzufügen.

In einem anderen Browserprofil kann ich den Link auf normal aufmachen.
Es wird ein File runtergeladen. Wenn ich das dann mit FF öffne... wird es nochmal runtergeladen.

Aber Friendica findet es trotzdem nicht.

Laut den Logs wird beim Aufruf der URL ein 403 zurückgegeben. Habe deswegen mal die URL ohne /feed aufgerufen. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen, dass da so ein Cloudflair Menschenüberfüfungsdingensbummens davorgeschaltet ist. Kann es vielleicht daran liegen?

Aber wiese es dann bei mir funktioniert, wäre dann auch irgendwie unlogisch.

Ja, der 403 ist mir auch aufgefallen, als ich mit https://validator.w3.org/feed/ den Feed überprüfen wollte. Dort wirft es nämlich auch diesen Status zurück.

Mein Friendica ist bei Hetzner gehostet. Wahrscheinlich ist die IP - wie auch bei Google - als "zur Überprüfung" geflagged... und wird nicht einfach so durchgelassen...

YEP. liegt an der Hetzner-IP.
Hab es jetzt mit meinem Wireguard-VPN probiert.
Wenn ich es eingeschaltet habe (entpunkt liegt beim Hetzner), schafft curl es auchnicht.
Ist das VPN ausgeschaltet, kann ich's mit curl runterladen.

Dann werd ich den RSS-Feed wohl nicht abonnieren können und muss wieder botsin.space nehmen.
