@Friendica Support @#friendicahelp

Hello. I have several #Friendica Saved Folders, but i'm struggling to deduce some usage aspects.

  • How can i edit existing folders to rename them?
  • Due to various reclassifications i've made now two folders are empty, & i shan't use them again; how can i delete them pls?

Thanks.
Normally folders should disappear, once no content is in them any more.
@Michael Vogel Ta. I thought so too, but these two folders [empty] are behaving differently to others. Logging out then back in didn't help. Would deleting the site's cookies be worth trying pls?
No. The cookies don't help here. I currently can't tell, why they aren't removed.
@Michael Vogel I've now also tried another logout but this time then also clearing the cookies. It did not help.

@Steffen K9 ๐Ÿฐ is there anything you might be able to do pls, at the server-admin level, to brute-force delete these two unwanted, empty, folders?

Pls note that i very much DO still want all my other folders kept.
I could probably fiddle around in the database to remove the empty folders. But I think this would be better corrected in the code.

Yes, that makes sense for the general UX improvement. In the meantime though, clearly i need to just get used to tolerating these ongoing unwanted folders. Oh well.
Under "Saved Folders" I have an entry called "Everything". It's empty and seems likewise unremovable.
'Everything' is a default folder showing all saved items.
This reminds me of one of my colleagues many, many years ago. He wanted to kill a process on a Novell server that used more and more processor time on the server. And the more other processes he killed, the more that process grew. The name of the process was "idle time" :-)
Well it's exasperating. Those two empty folders simply refuse to go away. I tried an experiment; i took two random posts, & saved one to one of these folders, t'other to t'other folder. After visually confirming that both folders now indeed held these posts, i then manually deleted each post. Ofc this is supposed to then automagically remove the now-empty folder, in each case. However, it does not; both folders seem to be nuke-proof.

I shan't lie; this is irritating.
